During the Harvard Macy Institute ‘Systems Approach to Assessment’ program, you will be working with a small group of scholars on a project you propose to implement at your home institution. The project proposal that you submit with your application to the program will serve as the foundation of your consulting group’s discussion of your project’s educational goal, design and approach to evaluating its success. Therefore, it is important that your project proposal succinctly (limited to a maximum of 3300 characters including spaces) but clearly provide the key information requested for each of the sections below.
Each attendee will be assigned to an institutional planning group. Time will be set aside during the program for you to meet with your group and faculty adviser to consult with each other on an assessment and evaluation project that is pertinent to your institution.
Please use the project questions below to briefly outline the assessment project that you would like to work on during the course.
Your final project proposal will consist of a one page project proposal (limited to a maximum of 3300 characters including spaces) of the institutional project you plan to develop during the program.

Describe your project including the plan for implementation and assessment data. Identify 2-3 short-term indicators that progress is being made. What outcome(s) will define success? What is the plan for measuring those outcomes?
What individuals or groups (stakeholders) need to support your efforts for you to achieve your goal(s)? Who else will be interested in or impacted by your proposal? What sources of resistance do you anticipate?
It is permissible for a group of applicants to work on the same project. Team members should each submit their own application, and fill out their own project proposal. If you are part of such a team, please enter the names of your other team members, so we can make a decision on all your applications together.
