Questions to be answered for Your Institutional Change Project:
Participants in Harvard Macy Institute courses are required to bring an issue, institutional challenge or project that they will work on while at Harvard. The work you bring to the program should be pertinent to your institution and will be instrumental in forming the foundation for learning that takes place during the program. We realize that the answers to the questions you will complete below are your preliminary thoughts and we hope that through the process of learning in this course your answers will be refined and shaped in such a way that they will form a solid strategic plan for implementation upon return to your institution.
What is the primary focus of your project? What question, concern, problem, or situation is addressed by your project? (Examples include, teaching and learning environments, assessment plans, technology applications, clinical delivery system improvements)
List 1-3 specific goals of your institutional project. Describe your project, plan for implementation, and assessment data. Identify 2-3 short-term indicators that progress is being made. What outcome(s) will define success? What is the plan for measuring those outcomes?
What individuals or groups (stakeholders) are needed to effect your plan? Who will be interested in or impacted by your proposal? What sources of resistance are you likely to encounter?
It is permissible for a group of applicants to work on the same project. Team members should each submit their own application, and fill out their own project proposal. If you are part of such a team, please enter the names of your other team members, so we can make a decision on all your applications together.
